Plains Precision Firearms works directly with each customer to design a custom rifle and shooting system that fits the needs and expectations of the individual. We’re not a high-volume shop—we build one rifle at a time and we aren’t done until it meets a high level of perfection. And then we’ll start on the next build.
We’re a one-man shop and it’s going to stay that way. You know who’s responsible for every aspect of your rifle. Every piece of the rifle is gone through and either meets our requirements or it’s replaced. This process gives customers a headache-free rifle from the start. All barrels are broken in at the shop and accuracy is tested to ensure consistency, reliability, and 100% confidence. The performance of our rifles is guaranteed without conditions.

Who Is Plains Precision Firearms?
Van Franke is the guy behind Plains Precision Firearms. He started precision hunting and shooting 20 years ago and has been driven toward accurate lightweight hunting rifles ever since. In the beginning, he accurized factory rifles and bought custom-built rifles. After never finding the quality or the consistency he expected from other products, he set out to build his own. He went on a mission and traveled the country learning from some of the best builders in long-range shooting.
In 2017, Van founded Plains Precision Firearms. Plains Precision Firearms has operated through word of mouth ever since and has never paid for advertising. 70% of Plains Precision’s business comes from repeat customers. We are driven to provide the best product to ensure our customers’ hunting success.
